Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What should I expect from treatment?

A: Each person is different and can respond differently. Response depends on how long you’ve had the problem, how consistent you are in attendance, and if you follow through with your home program. On an average, most notice improvement 2 – 4 weeks after treatment starts.

Q: Do I have to take off my clothing?

A: Only what is necessary to access the treatment area, and then linens are used to limit exposure.

Q: Will it hurt?

A: Sometimes for a short period of time while the technique is performed and lasting as long as it takes for you to slowly count to 10. Each person is always in charge of their body and can say “STOP” at any time.

Q: What is the purpose of cold pack or ice massage?

A: To reduce the inflammation in the muscle or joint and often the swelling that goes along with that and to slow down the sensory messages that go to the brain and scream PAIN-PAIN.

Q: Can I continue with my regular workout while recieving physical therapy?

A: It depends. You need to discuss this with the therapist so that you are not doing those activities that could aggravate your problem.
